The songs are heavy and more focused with the help of producer T Bone Burnett. They left the formulaic style of their self-titled debut album behind and did their own thing on this album. Compared to the first wonderful Secret Sisters album, this one appears to have more background percussion and bass. The Pocket Knife has that driving guitar hook that is a departure from some of their sweeter songs from the first album. Absolutely loved Good Luck, Good Night, Goodbye which was Fifties upbeat, and reminded me of the harmonies and sound of The Everly Brothers
